Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 9, 2026
1. What this website does
Building Material Calculator provides free building material and project cost calculators. We keep data collection limited and use information only to operate, understand, and improve the website.
2. Calculator entries
Your measurements, prices, and calculator results are processed in your browser. They are not submitted to us, stored on our servers, or sent to Google Analytics.
3. Information saved on your device
We use local browser storage to remember your US or Metric measurement preference. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on the live website when our Google measurement ID is enabled. Google Analytics helps us understand visits, traffic sources, popular pages, device and browser categories, approximate location, and general interactions such as calculator, print, and related tool usage. Google Analytics may use a first party cookie, including the _ga cookie, to distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not send names, email addresses, calculator measurements, entered prices, or calculator results to Google Analytics.
Google processes analytics information under its own terms and privacy practices. You can limit analytics cookies through your browser or supported consent controls. Google also provides a browser add on for opting out of Google Analytics measurement. Learn more from Google Analytics data collection information and Google Analytics privacy controls.
5. Server logs
Our hosting provider may record standard technical logs, including IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps, for delivery, troubleshooting, and security.
6. Advertising and affiliate links
After the website qualifies, we may use cookies or similar technology for advertising. Some pages may contain affiliate links. We may receive compensation when you follow a link or make a qualifying purchase, at no additional cost to you. Third party advertising and affiliate services process information under their own privacy policies.
7. Contractor request forms
We may add optional forms that connect visitors with contractors. Before you submit a form, it will identify the information requested, the company receiving it, how you may be contacted, and any required consent. Calculator entries will not be submitted automatically.
8. Email and information sharing
If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use it to respond to questions and correction reports. We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be handled by providers that host, secure, analyze, advertise on, or support the website, and may be disclosed when legally required.
9. Your choices and contact
You can block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser. You can also ask about, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold, subject to applicable law. For privacy questions, email hello@buildingmaterialcalculator.com. We may update this policy when our services change, and the effective date will show the latest revision.
