Terms of use
Effective date: September 9, 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Building Material Calculator, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
2. Planning estimates
Our calculators are intended to help with early planning and budgeting. Results are general estimates, and real projects can require different quantities or costs because products, site conditions, local requirements, installation methods, and supplier prices vary. Confirm important measurements, product coverage, ordering quantities, costs, structural requirements, and safety requirements with an appropriate contractor, engineer, manufacturer, or supplier before purchasing materials or beginning work. Your use of the calculators and reliance on their results is your responsibility.
3. Permitted use
You may use the website for lawful personal or business planning. You may not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a manner that disrupts service, or misrepresent our calculations or content as your own.
4. No professional advice or warranty
The website does not provide engineering, architectural, construction, legal, financial, or safety advice. The website is provided as available without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that every result will be complete, current, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular project.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Building Material Calculator and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the website. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
6. Informal dispute resolution
Before starting arbitration, you and the website operator agree to make a good faith effort to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Send a written notice describing the dispute and requested resolution to hello@buildingmaterialcalculator.com.
7. Binding individual arbitration
Except for eligible claims brought in small claims court and requests for relief from a government agency, any dispute arising from these terms or the website will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its applicable Consumer Arbitration Rules. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration provision. The arbitrator may award the same individual remedies available in court. A court may enter judgment on the award.
You and the website operator waive the right to a jury trial and agree that claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a class, collective, coordinated, consolidated, or representative action, to the extent permitted by law. If the individual basis requirement is found unenforceable for a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy will proceed in court and the remaining claims will remain subject to arbitration.
8. Arbitration opt out
You may opt out of the arbitration provision by emailing hello@buildingmaterialcalculator.com within 30 days after you first accept these terms. Include your name, the email address used to contact us, and a clear statement that you are opting out of arbitration. Opting out will not affect other terms.
9. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the website changes. The effective date will identify the latest version. Questions about these terms may be sent to hello@buildingmaterialcalculator.com.
